Supanova Superheroes Community Care Country Retreat

Since 2014 Superheroes Events Limited’s (SEL’s) fundraising activities have continues to evolve and grow through the increasing number of events and activities of the annual Shoalhaven South Coast Superheroes Festival (SSCSF), which now stages and attends events within and outside the Shoalhaven region.

Having previously raised funds for other charities and causes, in September 2018, the opportunity arose to consider fundraising for SEL’s own Shoalhaven Family Facility cause, now named Superheroes Community Care.

The purpose of Superheroes Community Care is to provide additional short-stay accommodation for families with chronically ill kids and families requiring benevolent assistance at it’s Retreats, currently the Superheroes Community Care Country and Sunset Haven retreats.

To enhance direction of our growing charitable volunteer work, SEL is changing the company’s legal structure. In early 2021 was approved as ACNC Public Benevolent Institution with DGR1 charity status. This will enable broader charitable fundraising appeal to support the company’s Charity objects of providing community benevolent accommodation stays.

SEL’s future mission is to provide similar accommodation in other locations, including interstate.

As part of our broader Charity strategy, SEL has established Superheroes Community Care (SCC) to umbrella SEL’s future ACNC charity, volunteer not for profit volunteer fundraising work and charitable mission.

Fundraising is now being raised to cover ongoing operational and maintenance costs, as well as sponsorship to part cover / cover the stay costs of families with chronically ill kids or families requiring benevolent assistance.

SEL has already held discussions with other community benevolent organisations to seek involvement, and explore the development of strategic alliance collaborations. The first of these partnerships was with the BlueScope WIN Community Partners program, which commenced in September 2020.

In August 2023 Supanova Expo Ltd became the Naming Rights Sponsor of our Superheroes Community Care Retreats and Charity Partner which is helping raise funds around Australia through its Supa-Fans and Pop Culture Expos.
